| Two hot teams face off in Washington |
|
Those playing Super Bowl odds know how important momentum is, and two NHL teams with that on their side will clash in Washington on Wednesday as Anaheim continues a Eastern swing in Washington.
Ducks vs Capitals odds – Wednesday, 7:00 PM ET The Ducks had won eight of their last 10 before Tuesday’s game in Atlanta, but they could be in trouble in Washington as they’re 2-8 in the second half of back-to-back games this season. They’ve been getting great goaltending from Jonas Hiller, who has given up more than three goals just once in his last 10 starts.
The Capitals also play on Tuesday in New York against the Islanders, and they’re 3-4 in the second half of back-to-back games. They’ll carry a six-game winning streak into the Big Apple, scoring four goals or more in five of those six games, and guess who is carrying them? The duo of Alex Ovechkin and Alex Semin has been tearing up the league lately.
The Capitals should be favored at home, where they are 18-3-3 this season. Anaheim has won four of their last five trips to Washington, but that was the last time they came here was December 2006, and this is a new Capitals team that has the city buzzing. If these two get tired due to playing on Tuesday, look for the crowd to lift the Caps.
